How Kini works with UKG Pro Recruiting.
UKG Pro Recruiting organises hiring around opportunities, the candidates who apply and the applications that link the two. Kini reads opportunities and writes candidates and applications for each end customer you connect.
Published opportunities with their screening questions
UKG Pro Recruiting moves opportunities from draft through approval to published and closed. Kini imports published opportunities with title, description, location type and requisition number, together with the screening questions attached to each one, so your form asks exactly what the employer's recruiters set up.
An applicant source of its own for Kini
UKG Pro Recruiting expects every integration to submit applications under an applicant source that the employer assigns to it. Kini uses the source the end customer created for Kini, so recruiters can tell at a glance which applications reached them through your channels.
Candidate first, application second
UKG Pro Recruiting keeps a candidate and their applications apart. Kini creates the candidate with first name, last name, email, phone and address, then the application on the chosen opportunity, and it looks the person up by email first, so a returning applicant stays one candidate.
Screening and consent answers on the application
Kini sends the candidate's answers to the opportunity's screening questions with the application, each matched to the question's ID. UKG's Easy Apply version of the interface also carries consent questions, so the employer's own consent wording is answered where UKG Pro Recruiting expects it.
The CV attached to the application record
Once UKG Pro Recruiting has created an application, it returns an address for documents that belongs to that one application. Kini attaches the CV and further files there, so they sit on the application the recruiter is reviewing rather than in a separate inbox.
Every field. Every entity.Exactly where it belongs.
Three kinds of UKG Pro Recruiting records are involved: opportunities come in, candidates and applications go back. Field names follow UKG's developer reference.
Opportunities
Candidates
Applications
UKG Pro Recruiting does not accept an application on its own. The candidate has to exist first, and documents can only be added once the application has been created, through an address UKG returns for that application. Kini therefore writes three steps per applicant.
Operations like GET, POST, PATCH are documented per endpoint in the . The primary source for field definitions. Kini adds mapping and fallback logic on top.
Step 1Connect
Step 2Map
Step 3Test
Step 4Go-live!
End-to-end GDPR consent
Every application that flows through Kini carries a consent flag, mirrored on the target system's side and traceable in audits.
Native-language custom fields
Locations, departments and sources are mapped correctly even when they use German naming conventions or regional variants, whether your customers sit in DACH or operate internationally.
Application flows for a wide range of job boards
Stepstone, Indeed, Jobrapido and regional boards each have their own required fields, screening patterns and encoding rules. Kini's mapping engine is trained for those: out of the box, not as a custom project.
Operated by the Kini team
Kini runs the connection for you, including monitoring and alerts. If a vendor changes an API or a mapping breaks, our team fixes it before it reaches your funnel. Operated from Germany.
Frequently asked questions about the UKG Pro integration.
Which UKG Pro Recruiting opportunities Kini publishes, how applicants are created there, and how the employer registers the connection with UKG.
Published opportunities and their screening questions come in from UKG Pro Recruiting. Kini creates candidates, applications with the screening answers, and the documents on each application. Kini does not touch offers, onboarding or any HR data outside UKG Pro Recruiting.
Through UKG's identity team. UKG registers partner and customer integrations for UKG Pro Recruiting in an offline process, and the employer provides the client credentials and organisation ID for its tenant. Kini then works only with the recruiting permissions granted to that registered client.
Because UKG Pro Recruiting attributes every imported application to an applicant source. UKG's documentation asks integrations to use the source ID the customer assigned to them, plus an optional short origin text, which recruiters then see next to the source on each application.
Yes. In UKG Pro Recruiting, one candidate can hold applications to several opportunities. Kini finds an existing candidate by email and adds the new application to that person, so recruiters see the full history of one applicant instead of duplicates spread across several records.
No. UKG Pro remains the employer's system of record for opportunities, candidates, hiring and everything that follows in HR. Kini adds the channels where candidates find those opportunities and returns the applications to UKG Pro Recruiting, where recruiters handle them as usual.
Kini sets a sync status on each application once UKG Pro Recruiting has accepted or refused it, and your platform reads that status from Kini's API or receives it by webhook. An accepted application also carries the identifier UKG assigned to it.
In Frankfurt, inside the EU, under a data processing agreement Kini provides. Kini anonymises its copy of each application 180 days after creation, removing contact details, documents, notes and screening answers. The records in UKG Pro follow the employer's own retention policy.
